An old tractor with a little more horsepower and no technology at all 🙂
Foreword: This tractor has no technology or frills
I was out on the farm on a rainy day and passed an old barn.
And there I found it, the old Fiat 1300dt (known from the LS19), engine damage, paint damage and you could see
that it had seen its best years.
So I hitched it to the MF8S and pulled it into the workshop, after I had a clear picture
of everything the old one was missing, I was determined to put together a new farm tractor.
Coffee was made, a rock classic was playing on the radio and I got to work under the welding hood.
Out with the old engine and in with a still usable 6-cylinder diesel with 7.2 liter displacement.
An old Iveco Turbo, which was just waiting to be used in the corner of the workshop, was also quickly adapted.
After the engine operation, which actually went very well, I thought about the work that has to be done on the farm every day.
I quickly realized that without front hydraulics, the old Fiat would only be able to get a short job. So I took a lap around the farm and checked the old Steyr, which had often been used as a spare parts store. And there it was, a well-preserved front hydraulics. Several welds later, the conversion was successful and the hydraulics were ready for use.
A few more brush strokes with the good old rust protection paint here and there and the old Fiat was ready for use again.
It smokes, rattles, loses oil and you can probably hear the gears changing even on the neighboring farm, but it runs 🙂
It is now my new favorite on the farm and takes me back to my childhood, when you still knew old tractors and your heart beat faster when you saw them driving 🙂
Perhaps it will bring some joy to one of you too, so I am making it available to you. But be warned, you need a lot of oil 😛
